Capital Project FAQs

Q: Who do I contact if I have safety concerns about the construction?

Q: Why are we doing these projects?

A: In 2021, Leyden Rock Metropolitan District restructured all our debt that also included a net cash out of $4.7M from release of reserves and bond premiums.  This payout can only be used for new capital projects in our community per IRS restrictions.   After extensive surveys and conversations with the community, we arrived at these 4 major projects.  More new projects are likely to occur until we draw down this reserve. 

Q: Will this raise my taxes (mill levy)?

A: No.  This money is held in reserve and can only be used for new capital projects. 

Q: Where did we get the money?

Q: What is the total anticipated cost?

A: The current project is quoted at just over $1.6M

Q: What are the projects

A: There are 4 different sections outlined in the attached presentation.  They include playground improvements and a patio area with horseshoes and covered tables in Daybreak Park.  There is a new sign being installed at the Culebra entrance similar in design to the existing Leyden Rock Drive entrance. The Westridge park is getting extensive landscape enhancements, additional shade trees, additional benches, and a gaga pit (like dodgeball).  The fourth area is 88th Drive in the far north of our community where 6 parcels are being worked on to beautify and add amenities like bocce ball and horseshoe pits.  

Q: When will they be complete?

A: Estimated completion is October 2026 for all sections.
